The Managing Director, Biogenerics Nigeria Limited, Pharm. Osakwe Uwubanmwen, sponsor of the Biogenerics Integrity Award for pharmacists in public hospitals, has disclosed his desire to increase the monetary value of the award from N1, 000,000 to N5, 000,000 in the nearest future.

Uwubanmwen disclosed this during the unveiling of the winner of the 2021 edition of the annual integrity award at the Award/Dinner night of the 94th Annual National Conference of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) in Port Harcourt.

The winner of the 2021 edition of the award is Pharm. Olubukola  Moteehat  Olu-Lawal of State Hospital, Osun State.

While expressing gratitude to the sponsor of the award, Olu-Lawal said she has decided long ago to carry out her assignment at the hospital with integrity, even though without anticipating reward from anybody. She however described the moment she received the award as the best moment of her life, saying she never thought she could win such an award.

“I have been attending to patients with integrity, I make sure I do everything the right way, but I’m not getting anything in return. It looks like there can never be a reward for my integrity; sometimes I will be asking myself are people not seeing what I am doing? But this night represent an answer to my prayer”, emotional Pharm. Olu-Lawal said.

The overall winner of the award claims N1 million. The sponsor of the award has also announced N100, 000 cash prize each for two runners up.
