Pharmacists, Friends Celebrate Enebeli for Bagging UNIBEN’s Doctor of Science Award

Dignitaries with Pharm. Enebeli, cutting the luncheon’s cake

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has recently conferred its prestigious Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science (D.Sc) Honoris Causa on Pharm. (Dr) Paul Enebeli, for his numerous  contributions to national  development.

UNIBEN conferred the award on Enebeli and six other prominent Nigerians, at its 48th Convocation and 53rd Founders’ Day Ceremony. Other beneficiaries of the award were the former Governor of Lagos State and immediate past Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola; wife of the Edo State Governor, Mrs Betsy Obaseki; the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Mr Gbenga Komolafe; and the Chief Operating Officer of Green Energy International Limited (GEIL), Dr Kayode Adegbulugbe.

Sequel to the honour done on Enebeli, top personalities in the pharmaceutical industry, family members and his friends converged at a reception, held at the Marriot Hotel, Lagos, at the weekend to felicitate him for the recognition and his immense support in nation building.

The luncheon party was organised by Enebeli’s Committee of Fiends chaired by Dr Lolu Ojo. Other members of the committee included Pharm. Ochuko Omaruaye, vice Chairman (1); Prince Joe Iyeke, vice chairman (2); Pharm. Iyiola Gbolagade, secretary; Prof. Lere Baale; Pharm. (Dr) Enadehe Osaretin; Pharm. Ernest Okafor, among others.

In his remarks, Pharmanews Publisher, who was the Chairman of the occasion, Pharm. (Sir) Ifeanyi Atueyi, commended the committee of friends for organising such a worthy event to honour Enebeli, who he said has done well in the pharma space and also touched many lives, himself inclusive.

“Life is not all about money but how you live your life and the life you touched. We must learn many lessons from Pharm. Enebeli”, Atueyi said.

The Chairman, Board of Fellows of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Pharm. (Dr) Joel Adagadzu described Pharm. Enebeli as a wonderful and admirable person. He stated that Enebeli is a very committed pharmacist, someone who has flair for friendship and disposed to doing good at all time.

“He works very hard, he associates with people without discrimination. UNIBEN is one of the best universities in Nigeria and for such institution to have bestowed its prestigious award on Pharm. Enebeli should tell everyone the kind of person he is. I want to urge him to continue to do good because I know this is just the beginning for him. He will still receive more awards. He was born great, he’s a great man, and he will continue to be a great man”, Adagadzu said.

The National Chairman, Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) Pharm. Wale Oladigbolu described Pharm. Enebeli as mentor of mentors who always stands straight.

Dr Lolu Ojo also commended Pharm. Enebeli, for his selfless service to the Pharmacy profession and the pharmaceutical industry.

Also, Pharm. Iyiola Gbolagade described Pharm.  Enebeli as a passionate and committed pharmacist who has been a mentor, not just to him but many others in the pharma sector.

The elder brother to Pharm. Enebeli, Patrick Enebeli, said he is a son the entire family is proud of, having taken the footstep of their late father. “There is no preference in his friendship. The younger ones should emulate him”, he stated.

Pharm. Enebeli, in his remarks expressed appreciation to those who organised the luncheon party in his honour and those who attended the occasion. He said the award he received from UNIBEN is a challenge to him to do more, saying to whom much is given, much is expected.
